Assisted Living insurance program
Im pregnant and can’t get to a doctor?
Ok. So I found out that I was pregnant almost 2 weeks ago. I calculated it online and I guess I’m on week 5. I just signed up for insurance at my new job but it will not be in effect until Jan 1. so until then, I’m stuck. I’ve tried finding free clinics but it’s been impossible. I have called all around the city (I live in Long Beach, CA) and found nothing. They tell me “we don’t do prenatal care” or “we don’t have a cash program to assist those without insurance.”
I’m at a loss. I’m thinking of just waiting until Jan 1 so that I’ll be able to go to a real doctor. Would that be bad? I think I’m healthy but it has been over a year since I’ve had any kind of exam. I bought Prenatal pills from Walgreens and I have been taking those and I’ve been trying to eat as healthy as possible, lots of proteins and all that. It would just be about another month before I could get into a doctor. what should I do?
As long as you have the prenatal vitamins you’ll be perfectly fine, I didn’t see a doctor til week 12 and my baby is perfect.
