Assisted Living manager jobs
Question, please answer!?
hello, i am almost six months pregnant and i work part-time as a caregiver for an Assisted Living Facility in WI. I asked my manager how long i could take maternity leave and she said she wasn’t for sure but she thought the maximum was 12 weeks and that she would get back to me. the next week i got a copy of the policy about maternity leave and a note that says “six weeks by law”. does this mean that i can only take six weeks or is that just the minimum? i really wanted to take at least eight weeks but i need my job so will they let me go if i take more than six? also, does the six weeks start after the baby is born or what if i take of a little before the baby comes, will that count? im sorry for all the questions, i will ask my manager when i see her but its a small facility so i rarely see her because its one person per shift. thanks in advance! also i will be working there for a year and one month by the time the baby is born.
if you have a c-section, its 12 weeks. if you have a natural (vaginally) birth, you get 8 weeks. some people take longer, some take shorter. i went back after 9 weeks, and a woman i work with went back after only 5 weeks. your job can’t fire you if you take an extra week or two off, however they might use your sick time or vacation time. talk to the person in charge of HR and see what your company policies are. and yes it starts after your baby is born. thats why its best to work as long as you can before taking the time off.

The Daily Hunter blog: Arniel’s ‘circle’ around Columbus recalls draft days
When new Blue Jackets coach Scott Arniel said yesterday that out of the four NHL jobs that were available this was “the one job I had a big circle around,” my mind instantly conjured images of draft days past.
